Be Uncomfortable and Grow

A :en:sweet chestnut forest in the swiss alps(...

Be uncomfortable? What!?! Yes, allow yourself to be uncomfortable. My challenge for today is to try something new that you may not be comfortable with. I don’t mean painful, I just mean different for you. Placing you outside of yourself is a great way to cultivate the sense of wonder that writers need.

Is there a new food you can try? Is there a new music genre you could explore? Could you go without your telephone for a day? Would you abandon the internet for a day in favor of planting a tree if you knew an idea would come from it?

I challenge you to do something outside of your normal routine. Use your senses and explore the strange and wonderful. Grow as a person and as a writer.
